Dive 7 Festival Underwater Photography Competition
Every year there is an underwater photography competition held in Dauin, Philippines. It is July 25-28 2024, the entries must be taken in Dauin during the festival. Competitions are held in categories: wide angle, macro, nudibranch, behaviour and special with separate classes for Compact and open class. I suppose you could call it a bit of a shoot out. It is backed by the Department of Tourism and the entry fee is very low. If anyone fancies coming to dive and participate in the competition and would like more info please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for sharing this comp!
I won’t be able to partake, but hopefully some TUC members will be able to make it.
Participating in a Shootout is quite different from online comps, and I can’t recommend enough to try it at least once. Plus this is chance of meeting liked-minded photographers.
If you have some information on the prizes offered, please add them there too.

The prizes are cash, from memory around the £100 for first prize so you aren’t going to get rich but it is a fun event. Forward planning isn’t a strong point for the Filipinos so haven’t got the final details for this years contest but here is a link to the winning photos from last year
