Have you ever found yourself shooting a great-looking subject, but getting disappointing photos, due to an unflattering background?

Of course you have! We all had these frustrating moments where a distracting background is stopping us from creating elegant images. We know the drill: open-up the aperture to blur the background, or use a snoot to make it black. That’s why you see so many underwater images with black backgrounds nowadays. But what if there was a way to transform that challenge into an opportunity for artistic brilliance?

Enter the Creative Motion Blur technique (aka Intentional Camera Movement, or “ICM” for short) – a game-changer that turns messy backgrounds into dreamy works of art, giving your subject the spotlight it deserves. These images will have the viewer wonder if you used any AI magic, whereas it all gets created in camera!

Watch the recording of this popular masterclass, where Nicolas Remy delved into every aspect of this technique which saw him win top photography awards, and concluded the session with a live review of images created by participants, with slow shutter speeds and intentional camera movements.
