@Murray yep, even if your content is top quality and has the potential to please as many or more users as your earlier posts, Facebook/Instagram will show it to fewer people if you haven’t been posting / engaging with the platform as much.
A good friend of mine has been quite successful on Instagram, and he’s only doing reels, which are the #1 type of content that FB/Insta are looking to get, the only type of content they will show to non-followers organically. He saw the reach of his own reels dropped after a period of being too busy to post as regularly as before…
The same happened to me (with photos) and to you it seems, although I can confirm your photos are only getting better!
As to boosting content, I sometimes end-up doing it, just for the fact that Facebook/Instagram are advertisement channels for The Underwater Club, and I want to make the most of whatever time I spent preparing a post, writing captions, etc.
