Sorry, I have been away on a hiking trip. Thank you all for taking the time to think about what I said. Everything in life is always so complicated. I too would like to learn more about how the social media algorithms prioritise the promotion of posts. To me it seems the quality of the content including images is not an important aspect of the algorithms. About a year or two ago I noticed I started receiving fewer likes, hearts, and wows. No doubt this is partly because an AI correctly deduced that I am not very popular. On the other hand, I also started receiving Facebook advertisements asking me to “Boost” my posts for a significant fee. I am concerned about the “likes for fee” service and so far have not paid any fees to boost the circulation of my content. IMO, the social media companies would be wise to re-engineer their algorithms to increase the priority of authentic, high quality content … I’m getting off track.
