    Cheers @Bill !

@imogenisunderwater what may look mundane to you could be really interesting to fellow members from other locations, so feel free to write even about a single dive that you’ve found interesting / productive photographically.

    Allright, back to Malapascua.

Turns out our bangka was nearly stuck on the low tide, but a lot of bamboo pushing got us out of the harbour… Only for hearing the boat’s engine give up a few hundreds meters at sea 😀

I find bangkas interesting – all boats there seem to be built in the exact same shape, and they use agricultural engines as opposed to marine engines, bringing the cost of a new bangka kitted for diving to below PHP 2,000,000 (AUD 65,000), quite impressive!

Anyways, I am glad to say it took us only 30mins of drifting until the crew managed to revive the engine and another 30mins later we set foot on Malapascua.

There is a nice T-shaped jetty on the south-West of the island, but the tide was very low when we got there, so our boat had to beach on the South-Eastern side instead (Bounty Beach, where most of the dive shops and restaurants are).
