The SMC-1 is a fine piece of glass no doubt, but it’s also thick and requires a macro lens with ample minimum focus distance, so that you can make the most of it.
Typically, it works well with 90/100/105mm macro lenses which have around 30cm of minimum focus distance, because you’ve got “space” to fit the lens and your subject.
Your Oly 60mm has about 19cm of minimum focus distance, hence @yazid ‘s recommendation for CMC1/CMC2, which are better suited to that type of lens (my pick would be the CMC2).
If you had a SMC1 already, I’d suggest getting yourself the new Oly 90mm macro lens which works with it.
