While in Dauin a few days ago, I spotted some gobies – the kind that guard a den shared with a shrimp – from a distance and got attracted by their golden colour (there were 2).
Alas, without my rebreather I couldn’t get close enough for a good angle showcasing the 2 gobies with the shrimp at work.
Then I thought about our theme of the month, and decided the golden colour itself would be enough of a ‘feature’, complemented with a minimalistic background, to create an interesting shot, so I backed off and captured this frame.
Like Dyana, I chose a very open depth of field (F/2.8 on my Canon R5II, with RF 100mm lens) to blur as much of the background as I could. Alas, the goby was on a slope and there’s a patch of sand on the left that just happens to be in the plane of focus too.
