Hi everyone !
Happy to send my first message here on the Forum 🙂Here are two pictures I took using the same gadget in the background : a repurposed piece of my daughter’s red sequined dress (she never wore it anyway, she was not that girly…)
I’ll try to take a picture of the gadget, but it is a square piece of tissue, with snapbolts on the bottom edge (acting as weights), and a floating arm bar on the top edge, with a subtle equilibrium allowing it to stand upright when the bottom part is resting on the ground
Quite challenging to get used to, in terms of subject/camera/background distances ratio to achieve various effects, combined with the aperture, and strobes power
Here is the result, both shot with my Nikon D7000 with Nikon 105mm, 2 Nikons SB-105 strobes on manual :
– one fake seaslug (plaster made, painted) in a swimming pool : 1/250s, f/22, ISO100
– one yellow gorgonian by Ëœ20m depth, Mediterranean (Porquerolles) : 1/90s, f/19, ISO100 – a few seconds before flooding my housing… but I managed to save the camera and lens… Which obviously did not allow me to try other shots…
And to finish, an example of the kind of said dress that I used to create the gadget 🤣
