I am using the OM-1 markii with 90mm macro lense. At this time I use it as it is, no diopters or others. I really love this lense as it can focus very fast and has an amazing 2:1 magnification. The main limit is really to get any larger subject into the frame. If the water is very clear you still get a chance, otherwise its really too hazy and sometimes the strobes also won’t reach that far (working distance would be huge for something like a turtle…).
I have done a few blackwater dives and although its not easy (at 14 degree, the field of view is super narrow, so it’s a bit of a challenge to find your subject) it is possible! Attaching a few blackwater pics from Lembeh and Anilao. It seems like MFO-3 is the way to go with it, maybe that’ll be a future upgrade for me…
So overall, I’d really recommend the lense!! It’s pricey, but I got mine second hand, so have a look around, there are sometimes great opportunities.
