Ian, I’m thrilled to see your submission — and especially to see how much thought and experimentation went into it. Well done.

I really love the use of shells as props and the way you explored repeating oval shapes throughout the set. You can clearly see the deliberate play with light direction, shadow, and mood from image to image.

What stands out most to me is how differently each lighting angle changes the emotional feel of the scene — a great reminder of how powerful light placement really is.

If I had one gentle observation from a portfolio point of view, it’s that while the egg is the clear common denominator, I’d personally love to see a little more visual cohesion across the set — perhaps through more consistency in colour palette, background treatment, or lighting style. Right now the images feel more like a collection of individual experiments than one tightly connected series.

That said, I think this is exactly the spirit of the challenge: experimenting, observing, and learning what works (and what doesn’t) before taking ideas underwater. Fantastic contribution.
