These leatherjackets can really be nasty!
Not sure if the Backscatter 120° lens’ outer element is made of glass or acrylic/plastic.
If glass, I wouldn’t bother trying to polish it, you’d need a specialist machinery to do a good, even job, and would likely make things worse.
If acrylic/plastic, then sure you can try a polish but you’d loose any anti-reflective coating, which again may give an uneven appearance to your images.
Perhaps your Backscatter dealer can offer a repair/exchange deal. On some lenses you can replace just the front element.
Thanks for sharing these illustrative photos. I love the colours on #3 and #4.
#3 is too bright to my liking, I suspect it will look richer if you dial it -1 EV.
The lighting on #4 is spot-on, a great example of how this lens can shine. The bottom left corner is a bit soft though, did you shoot this at the widest aperture?
