    Hi @veronac

Indeed 25cm of minimal focus distance would limit what you can do in CFWA terms, also because it requires a big enough dome, which stops you from getting the lens really close to subjects.

The Olympus 8mm f/1.8 fisheye is the best CFWA option for your camera. The older Panasonic F/3.5mm also does the trick but it’s a not as qualitative, and not as good in low light (AF speed).

To make the most of your 8mm fisheye in CFWA, I recommend to use one of AOI’s mini-domes (4 inches in diameter), and they have 4 of them in catalogue: DLP-01, DLP-02, DLP-05, DLP-06.

Which one you need depends on which port system your AOI housing uses (AOI have the ‘legacy’ OMD port and their newer PEN port), and whether you want an acrylic or glass dome (more expensive). The glass version comes with anti-reflective coating, which will be better when shooting into the sun, in all other scenarios the acrylic version will provide very close image quality.

Now, because you’re getting the longer fisheye (Oly 8mm), you’ll also need an extension fitted between the mini dome and housing => best to confirm with your UW camera dealer which one precisely.

On the other hand, the shorter Panasonic 8mm fisheye doesn’t need an extension.
