Kudos on @chrismiles from designing yet another cool lighting accessory!
I quite like #3 as a portrait, it only has a little bit of scatter on the side which would probably go a way with a contrast boost.
To reduce backscatter further, remember it’s all about the cone of light and how your strobe positioning minimises how much of it intersects with your lens’ field of view. Couple of strategies:
-Get closer to your subject (see how clean your nudi photo is)
-Bring the strobe(s) closer to the subject (makes the cone of light smaller)
-Don’t close down the aperture more than necessary (particles outside the depth of field progressively smooth out of view)
But sometimes there is just too much stuff in the water, and you do need a snoot to further cut backscatter down.
Curious to see what others think and advice they may provide.
