Somehow I had missed this photo – thanks @rschifreen for bringing it up!
I quite like this image. The frogfish is positioned right at one of the powerpoint which is where the human eye tends to look first and it will help discover it. I also like the fact that you’ve let some ambient light in for a coloured background.
I agree with Rich that the image could benefit from making the subject extra-findable (very satisfying from viewer’s perspective, and increases impact). Local sharpening and playing with contrast can help.
Also, I’d love getting more of that background colour, complementing the yellow/pale algae, so I’d suggest brightening it up.
You might want to remove the bottom left backscatter spot, unless you’re considering use cases where this wouldn’t be allowed. I am thinking the upcoming OGPICOTY photo contest (no backscatter allowed) has a “Small and Exotic Critters” category where you could try this shot).
