If you’re happy enough to do your complete workflow in sRGB – which certainly would suit most photographers’ needs – it opens up some options indeed.

However, last time I did a bit of shopping (about 3 years ago) the good bang-for-your-buck Dells still were inaccurate in the blue/aqua zone, even when talking sRGB only.

They may have improved since, but it’s worth double-checking, because even on a small display, having the water background more blue or more greenish can change the feel of an image – important if you often shoot in temperate waters, less so if you’re doing mostly tropics.
