If colour-precise photo editing is your priority, the Eizo range are a known and proven quantity, you can’t go wrong with them.
You’ll pay more for bigger size and more modern options (e.g. USB-C connectors), you can save by compromising on them, but they consistently lead in terms of colour accuracy, gamut coverage, etc. You do need to get them calibrated on a regular basis (like other monitors).
Couple of things to know:
-A good monitor for photo editing and video editing are 2 different things, you’re looking for different specs.
-No matter how good your monitor is, over time its colours can shift and you need to calibrate it on a regular basis.
-There are a number of independent reviews out there for all sorts of monitors to help you choose, but don’t skim to the conclusion, pay attention to colour accuracy in particular in blue/aqua. Last time I checked, Dell had some very competitive monitors that scored very well for photography… except with those blue/aqua colours, but who cares right? Well we – UW photographers – care a lot about these colours
We discussed the topic on a coffee chat meeting a while back, and I recall @MattD was very satisfied with a BenQ monitor, another brand highly regarded for photography but less pricy than Eizo.
