Hi @Murray
Great that you can be there for the pre-workshop too 🙌🙌
Yes, it will be a packed 10 days with loads of opportunities to learn and practice new techniques/ideas.
You and I spoke about this, but i’ll mention it for the benefit of others:
While Dauin is mostly know as a macro destination, there are excellent wide-angle opportunities in nearby Apo island which can be visited as a day trip.
For those interested only in macro, I won’t force anyone… but I highly recommend to also bring a wide-angle lens so you can also prepare and enter the competition’s wide-angle category, and improve your skills with CFWA/Wide-Angle/Working with a model. I know I’ll do at least 2 of my talks on wide angle.
On your last point, shootouts can get quite competitive, and I’d fully understand someone who prefers to keep their shots/ideas close to their chest during the competition itself: after all, some images are 80% about pre-dive thinking and only 20% about execution. That said, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to hand out, share tips, experiences and feedback. Hopefully we’ll have a few prize winners amongst our group, but regardless my goal is that you all come up with images you’ve very happy with 🙂
