    Hi @Elodie

I like how ‘graphical’ this picture is, the shape of the anemone and the clear background separation make it catchy, even as a small vignette. I also like how your single strobe lighting gives a very 3-Dimensional feel to the anemone.

Personally, I like the composition as it is – note to anyone seeing this thread: the image thumbnail isn’t showing the whole image – you need to click/tap the thumbnail to see it.

Like Paula, I think the crab could pop a little more, due to being in shadow for now.

As a certain president would say, this can be done the easy way or the hard way 🙂

-The easy way: use a mask to select the parts of the crab which weren’t lit, brighten them up and adjust their white balance, so they are consistent with the parts which were lit (the white areas must have the same white).

-The hard(er) way: next time you shoot a similar subject, add a second strobe – ideally with a tight snoot- whose sole role is to illuminate the crab, while the rest of the frame is lit only with that sea & sea strobe, keeping on projecting mini-shadows and revealing texture.

Lastly, I feel the photo has a slight red/pink colour cast, try adjusting the white balance so the parts of the crab which are lit are more of a neutral white -> this would help it stand out and boost colour contrast.
