Hi Evan — not a Mac user – but have always held my LR library on an external drive and have no problems with a relatively high spec’d laptop when travelling. A regular and “followed” back up plan is really important! If you start using add on suchas the Backscatter Exterminator in Photoshop – extra graphic horsepower makes a lot of difference!
