Hi @ppina
I also agree that there is some subjectivity with regards to which colour balance is right.
For example, I know I tend to push the tint slider (screenshot of Lightroom WB sliders for reference) more towards the right than most people, as I like to revive those red colours a little more. This is personal taste.
Another consideration: the colour of your water background will be influenced by your strobes’ colour temperature (amongst other things) and two photographers shooting the exact same camera/lenses in the same place will get different water backgrounds, if they both take a custom WB measurement with a white/grey slate. So, your water colour is also a matter of personal state, even if Nikon is known for its more vibrant ‘Nikon blues’ by default.
The only scenario where I would invite someone to change their white balance is if I can see a colour cast. Meaning, the whole image seems to be tinted in green, yellow, blue, etc. You generally want to remove/reduce a colour cast, because your images will gain more (colour) contrast.
It’s harder to pinpoint a colour cast in a macro shot, but looking at your first photo (lovely flabellina by the way!), it feels like everything is a little yellow (more significant in the next 2 photos actually). Perhaps that’s because the algae are all brown/beige, but I suggest you try pulling the “Temp” slider towards the left a little bit (more blue, less yellow) and see if you prefer the result.
