I was chatting with Oskar (founder of Retra UWT) last month about sustainability.
He’s quite proud (and can be!) that his strobes are durable, that they keep servicing every strobe they ever produced. Whilst they certainly aren’t the cheapest, this produces a healthy second-hand market with more affordable options. Whenever there’s warranty left on a Retra strobe, the warranty carries over to the new owner, which I think is very nice of them.
I don’t suppose you’ve got any warranty left on your strobes @jocudmore , but I just want to say i’ve used the exact same model for years and they never stopped performing, despite lots of abuse. In fact, these are the strobes I’m showing/referring to most of the time in the Equipment course.
The new Retra Pro Max II are great (I’m shooting them now for a review), but this doesn’t make the older Retra Flash Pro less good, they have such a good quality of light, and range of accessories.
