I think the idea is excellent though (reminds me of Pietro Formis’ WPY winning shot a couple of years back), but I recommend a slower shutter speed (and/or faster panning) so you get more blur and a more dramatic effect.
Also, the more ambient light bleeds in (with slower shutter speed) the more blue/green the background will be, adding colour contrast.
