Cropping is a tough one. I try to ask the question whether or not the background adds to the photo. In some cases, it is an important part of the story – in others it is purely a distraction. In these latter cases the photo is improved by eliminating and the distraction and increasing the impact of the subject. In this case you eliminated the dark wall on the left and some of the darker fish swimming through the gap. Do these elements matter? I struggle with the context of the photo. Its title suggests a jetty and the full photo shows the fish swimming through a gap. I don’t know this site, so the only information I have is the title and the image. For me, totally removing the wall on the left and the fish near the gap eliminates an important part of the context. On the other hand, the dark wall does not add much. My suggestion would be to reduce the crop so that there is only a thin portion of the wall on the left, leaving the context of a gap. This would also retain the darker fish swimming toward the gap, which I found to add to the photo. All that being said, LR or PS makes it easy to adjust the crop in real time and see what you like.
