I’m ready to go back – but it will be a while. I enjoy the challenge of id’ing the fish and critters. Most of the time it’s pretty straightforward, but occasionally its difficult. In that case my approach is to try to select the two best possibilities and try to find some information or a knowledgeable person who can narrow it down. I sent the picture to the lead photography dive guide at the Lembeh Resort. I assumed he would be familiar with the species at the dive sites they normally use. I realize that Lembeh is especially challenging as there are species and colorations unique to that location. He quickly replied that it is a Fingered Dragonet. You nailed it!
