    Nice shot! I like the interplay of the shadows and colours, the directionality of the light, and the sharpness of the rhinophore. In my experience snooting is very challenging at the start, but definitely worth the effort and persistence, and soon you’ll see great progress. I start with the look I want for the subject e.g. spotlight or fill (the latter showing more of the background), set the aperture for the depth of field, and then vary shutter speed, strobe power, ISO, and position of snoot to achieve the look. If the strobe power is too high you’ll end up with backscatter visible in the beam of the snoot. Start and test your set-up and settings on a lump of something on the seabed that is similar size to your subject. Then enjoy!
