obviously a bag isn’t enought since the objective is only prevent the splinters distribution in case of explosion and slow down the fire distribution as they are made of fireproof and self-extinguishing material.
The most important thing, a part from phyisical damage, that is very very important to prevent fires and explosion is the voltage, this is the reason it’s strongly suggested to place them in “storage voltage”.
By the way li-ion batteries right now are secure, as an average user, I suggest you also to deepen understand how to put out this kind of fire in case of.
