@shallowseasgallery , gee I didn’t imagine that people could end-up feeding seahorses to other animals for the sake of photography. I agree, photos of mating/courting seahorses aren’t that rare to come across, but predation over a seahorse, I can only remember seeing it photographed once.
I can certainly sympathise with unreasonably complex or clunky submission requirements. It sometimes feels like no one did a final proof-read through the rules nor tested the submission system. We should be fine for this competition though 😉
On the matter of baiting, it would be ideal to have jury members familiar with all the shortlisted species/locations, being able to identify baiting/feeding even if it hadn’t been declared.
