Thank you so much Nicolas! The dive show sounds like so much fun, I’m putting it on my list of compulsory attendances for next year. I’m so envious of everyone’s trips and new dive and photography gear!
Great advice for my photo! I had another attempt at editing, although the mask feature was very tricky and I couldn’t get it to select the dragon without also selecting the feather stars and some sponges. In the end I selected the background, used the brush to additionally select the parts that the AI didn’t, and then “inverted” the mask to select the dragon. I’ll attach the finished product. The difference is quite subtle but I think the dragon is now a more realistic colour.
Unfortunately I was completely hopeless at removing the weed from the dragons nose, I ended up with extra noses and tips of feather stars in the water, and so decided to leave as is. I think I just need more practice (and to consume all of Just Ask Erin’s recent webinar session!).
I’ve now placed my entry. The competition is very local, and the winning photos will be featured in the Love Gippsland calendar. It’s not a prestigious affair, the prize is a hamper of local produce and wine, but I guess we all start somewhere haha!
