Ciao Remy,
thank you for you answer, basically I’ve some doubts about my behaviour when using it.
I’m meaning, you guys mostly dive in tropical waters, so you don’t need to go deep to spot good subjects 🙂
In the mediterranean sea, I’m going to use a focus light when my Z9, which has a very powerful and precise autofocus system and, when it cannot nail the focus, is usually in deeper conditions where there’s no much differences between the subject and the close background due to the low amount of light.
In this condition everything seems to be very… let’s say… the same thing (the critter and the background).
This is the situation I think I really need a focus light, so I’m wondering if an “auto shut down” function may help me keeping my hand fixed on the underwater case mantaining me still and neutral with no movemement. Otherwise you’ve to move and reach the off button, moving… and without light, obviously losing the precise image in your viewfinder (or display) which come back with no color and no contrast till you shoot and review the picture after.
The other thing is… I perfectly understand 600 lumen will be more than enought for a focus light. Having more lumen, such as 1200, can help you not needing a diving torch in some situations, using the focus light itself like a diving torch till you reach your subject while exploring the deeper reefs.
Anyone is using a focus light with auto-shut-down?
