    Hey Jo,

    Great that you’re able to come back to this guy, you definitely want some backlighting to help contrast against the milky content. If not feasible, at least side-lighting.

    A torch would be easier to aim, but you need a thin light beam preferably.

    Then see how you go, maybe add some front lighting to restore colours if it has some, and make eye pops if you feel it’s worth doing so.

    One word of caution: try & minimise the amount of light you use (that’s one scenario for bumping isos a bit) as long exposure to bright torches is know to trigger premature hatching in some cephalopods (e.g. flambos).

    Attached one example of mine for illustration: these eggs were at the bottom of a discarded mug, I set my torch on the other side (so no snooting possible) but it shows you how a backlight can help with contrast.
