Thanks for sharing your trip report, these new flight schedules do make Palau even more tempting for us Australia-based!
How do you rate the photo-productivity of the sharks there?
Your article did mention Palau’s efforts towards sharks conservation, so I am expecting you can see many sharks on a number of dives, but how approachable are they? Also, any specific location for snorkelling with sharks in shallow water (you mentioned on the mainland)?
For reference, I just came back from Fiji, a nation known for staying away from finning (traditional beliefs look down on killing sharks) but in a few snorkelling sessions and 2 dives, I’ve only seen 2 distant reef sharks (plus a leopard sharks).
That’s why I am always curious how much, really, sharks can be approached with/without feeding.
