Hehe there are very much 2 camps and personal preferences 🙂
BBF definitely gives you that ability of de-coupling shooting and re-focusing, at a time where the camera might struggle with auto-focusing.
Note nothing stops you from shooting intermittent bursts while continuously tracking your subject, with FBF. You’d “just” have to ensure you switch between fully presses and half depressed, rather than fully releasing the shutter. As I am typing this, I realise this can be fiddly topside (how precise/sensitive can your index finger be during a long shoot), but easier done in a housing.
