    Hi all,

FYI, the contest deadline has just been extended till 08th August (watch the timezone, that’s probably AEST).

@johnvila mentioned the rules for entering a portfolio are a little confusing, and I agree:

    • For all Photo categories, digital files must be
submitted as JPGs/JPEGs and sized to be between 2,000 and 6,000 pixels
in the longest dimension. Entries in the “Portfolio” category must be a
single JPG/JPEG portfolio made up of six (6) images laid out on a grey
      (#666666) background.
    • The maximum file size for submissions to the Photo categories is 5MB

I checked with the organisers, and essentially what you have to do is assemble up to 6 images onto a single JPEG file, with a neutral grey background. It doesn’t matter how elegantly you assemble the images, whether they are landscape/portrait orientation, and how much grey space there is in between images, all the judges want to see is all images in a single visual (that’s just because the entry system doesn’t allow grouping images into a set).

#666666 stands for the hex code of one neutral grey colour. When picking a background colour in your favorite graphics tool, you can type in the hex code (6 characters) of any colour.

I don’t think it will matter too much which grey density you pick if your entries are all colour images (as long as it’s neutral). It’s more important if you have black & white entries in the lot.

    Good luck all!
