Hi PT @pink,
I won’t lie, I’d definitely take 2 strobes for a wide-angle destination like Palau, but you can still project pleasant colours with your single strobe assuming:
-the strobe is a pretty wide beam
-you get very close to the subject (no issue with an anemone with clownfish, OK-ish with a shark, mission impossible with a manta ray).
-you have it positioned above (12 o’clock)
(check the 1 vs 2 strobes lesson too)
Now a number of big scenes can look good with ambient light, knowing you’ll be trading-off with either colours or contrast
-To keep some colours, stay shallow-ish, with the sun on your back.
-Or play with silhouettes, shooting against the sun.
Perhaps @robink23 can provide some tips as she’s essentially an ambient-light shooter at the moment, @lucie I believe you’ve shot ambient light a lot too?
When exactly are you leaving? I have a pair of Inon z240 that I don’t use much, you could have them but we’re in South Australia till July 15th.
