It’s great to meet you, and I am glad to read you’re enjoying The Underwater Club 🙂
You said you’re at the beginning of your UW photography journey, and you’re in for a treat, and you’re right, it’s a very very addictive pursuit…
Growing your equipment step-by-step is not a bad thing: starting with ambient light only, you’ll see the merits of shooting with/against the light, you’ll be more sensitive to ‘mood’ and the atmosphere of your shots, something that can be overlooked, when using a pair of powerful strobes that paint all the scene with artificial lights.
As explained in the ‘1 vs 2 strobes lesson’, I know I’ve personally got stuck for a few years, because I started off with two big strobes that were always on, which stopped me from learning what lighting can do to texture and shadows.
